Gausman good in debut

Kevin Gausman made his Cubs debut and after a first inning injury scare, he was lights out. Gausman got hit on his foot in the first inning but decided he was able to stay in. He finished with 7 IP, 4 hits, 2 earned runs, 4 K's and just 1 walk. 

Gausman mentioned in a post-trade interview he couldn't wait to pitch with this defense behind him and they did not disappoint. Nico Hoerner made a great web gem play stopping a base hit and making a throw from his back to get the out. And Ian Happ made a terrific catch in left field to keep the Royals at bay. 

A new Cubs blog

Hello, my name is Lukas. I figured, why not? I watch every Cubs game from my couch, and will text friends some of my thoughts while i watch. Sometimes they watch, sometimes they respond, sometimes they don't. So i figured why not blog my viewings. 

A little bit about me. I live in Buffalo, NY, my favorite Cubs are Ryne Sandberg, Sammy Sosa, Mark Prior, Kerry Woods, Kris Bryant, and Moises Alou.
